HOCKEY Hockey is another
well established sport in SA, with strong support at all levels
from school through to provincial level, played by men and
women. Most cities and towns have well established male and
female leagues, making it a very popular social sport. It
is also a sport that is played well into senior years, with
strong Masters leagues.
Facilities compare with the best in the world, many of them
boasting Astroturf pitches. Even the leading schools have
the artificial surface. As a sport that has been in existence
for more than 100 years, most clubs have excellent club houses,
change rooms and playing surfaces.
