This is an open letter to express appreciation to Dale Wrede of SA Sports Tours for the hellish manner that he and his company assisted our school with our rugby tour to Argentina during April 2005.

During January 2005 I was given the task to try and organize an overseas tour for about 40 students to any destination to play rugby on overseas soil. This was a daunting task as the school wanted it to happen in April 2005. Every agent I approached stated that either it was impossible or highly unlikely that I would get it right.

After a last ditch attempt I decided to try the internet and search for a company that deals with this type of thing and managed to get hold of SA Sport Tours and also a few others.

Quotes eventually started coming and communication started between myself and the agents. I settled not on the cheapest quote as I was not happy with the package but also didn’t settle on the most expensive either. Dale came in on target and what he offered was what we needed and at a very affordable cost. Nothing to break the bank.

About 400 emails and lots of telephone calls later, we had our places booked, our tickets secured and eventually and on the 12th April 2005 we arrived at JHB International and left SA for BA.

The service we got from Dale’s company in South Africa and his partners in Argentina was excellent, and there was no need to want for anything as all was catered for.

Even though the games that were organized for us was of the toughest we have ever played (we got well and truly beaten), the whole and complete tour was a roaring success.

Dale conveyed to me that this is the quickest an overseas tour has ever been initiated, organized and successfully been undertaken. There were absolutely no problems that we had experienced.

As was stated the service from SA Sports Tours was excellent and their counterparts in Argentina was of equal quality.

I might just add that I was asked by the school to undertake a cultural tour to the whole of South America and am closely working with Dale to put a non-sports tour together for us. It will be a pleasure to work with him again.
